Successful Transitions? Tracing the Experiences of Migrant School Leavers in Scotland

This paper examines the experiences and aspirations of migrant young people in Scotland. It focuses on students approaching end compulsory education presents findings from a study outcomes migrants transition to adulthood. The research is based empirical fieldwork carried out with two schools (n = 95 depth interviews). finds evidence unique distinct educational pathways for school leavers background. Three themes emerge about practice migrants, (1) significance family support expectations, (2) impact migration process (3) changing nature identity through transition. highlights need local national policies which migrants.
